Menurutnya tanaman herbal sangat bermanfaat bagi seluruh masyarakat. Selain manfaat kesehatan, manfaat ekonomi juga akan didapatkan masyarakat, apabila pengembangan herbal tersebut berhasil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Menurut saya, tanaman herbal ini cocok dikembangkan di Sumut, mengingat Sumut juga memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan bermacam tanaman, ” kata Gubernur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Namun, kata Gubernur, untuk mewujudkan itu perlu dukungan setiap pihak. Mulai dari pusat hingga daerah. “Untuk mewujudkan ini, tentu memerlukan dukungan penuh dari setiap pihak, ” kata Gubernur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
TSTH berfungsi sebagai tempat budidaya dan pengembangan tanaman herbal. Selain itu, TSTH juga menyediakan bibit unggul hingga pemberdayaan petani lokal. Saat ini persiapan pembangunan TSTH sudah memasuki proses land clearing atau pembersihan lahan seluas 200ha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Menko Marves Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan mengatakan, TSTH dilaksanakan oleh berbagai universitas ternama mulai dari Institut Teknologi Del, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gajah Mada, dan Institut Pertanian Bogor. “Kita lihat tadi sudah (proses) masuk land clearing, persiapannya sudah kita lihat bagus, ” kata Luhut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Luhut menargetkan bulan Oktober akhir atau November sudah memasuki proses groundbreaking pembangunan TSTH. Apabila program TSTH berhasil, Sumut akan menjadi percontohan tempat pengembangan tanaman herbal. “Semua sudah bagus, kalau pertanian ini nanti jalan, akan di copy tempat lain, ” ungkap Luhut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
